President Ronald Reagan served in that high position for two consecrative terms from 1981 to 1989.  He faced many challenges, both internationally and nationally and was credited with winning the Cold War.  He was highly respected for his eloquence and was known as the “great
Communicator”.  
This portrait was commissioned shortly after the end of his second term, to be part of a major collection at the Heritage
Foundation.
